Vouchers are in the news as they refer to money back from the government to send children to private or parochial schools. People whose children do not attend public school feel they are paying for a service they are not using and in addition, paying for another school to send their children. They are paying twice.
These people want money back from their taxes in the form of vouchers to be used to send their children to private school. However, there is another point of view. Who forced these people to spend the extra money sending their children to private schools, when free schools are available? It was their own choice.
They can counter by saying that to send children to the free public schools available would be sending their children into a dangerous situation. Dangerous in the sense that they will learn nothing in a government sponsored school. The children would also be in danger because many of the public school are unsafe.
Another solution would be to home school the children. In this way they can be taught what is important to the family. The children would not be subject to state sponsored crime and ineptitude, nor subject to fairy tale religious stories spread by the private religious schools.
